What is double-sided tape?
Double sided tape is an adhesive that sticks to both surfaces when applied. It has various widths and adhesives, making it versatile for crafting, repairs, construction projects, and mounting objects. To use double sided tape, cut the desired length and press one side firmly onto the surface you wish to bond. Peel off the backing and press the other surface firmly onto the adhesive. This type of tape is great for projects requiring a secure bond without risking damage to the underlying surfaces.
How to use double sided tape?
Double sided tape is ideal for mounting, splicing and joining applications. Whether you are using on the jobsite, or around the house Surface Shields’ double sided tape is durable and dependable. Designed with a release line, simply apply tape on one side of your joining surface. Next, remove the release paper and smooth joining surface into place.
How strong is double-sided tape?
Double-sided tape is incredibly strong and can hold up to 32 pounds per square inch. It is perfect for projects requiring a strong and secure bond without risking damage to the underlying surfaces. The strength of the adhesive will depend on its type and width, so check the product specifications before purchasing.
How to remove double-sided tape?
The best way to remove the tape is to use heat or rubbing alcohol. When removing from hard surfaces such as wood floors or tile, first heat the tape with a hair dryer or heat gun set to medium temperature. Once the adhesive is softened, carefully peel off the tape from one corner and pull away slowly. Use rubbing alcohol on any remaining residue to dissolve it before wiping it clean with a damp cloth. For removal from fabrics and carpets, use an adhesive remover following the manufacturer’s instructions. This should help to loosen and remove the tape without leaving any residue. We recommend testing a piece of tape in an inconspicuous place before applying to reduce the risk of damage.
